In a few words...

The Hawaii-Okinawa Joint Action Plan has two initiatives that deal specifically with the ocean. The State of Hawaii is very committed to the ocean and will have a leadership role in the IYO.

The Okinawa Ocean Culture & Environment Action Network (Okinawa Ocean) will support Okinawa prefecture's plan and continue to encourage participation in IYO related programs.

The Okinawa International Clean Beach Club will focus its "I Love Okinawa" 1998 Campaign of monthly cleans-up and PSA's around the IYO programs and the Ocean Charters.
