Indonesia signed the "Ocean Charter"!

The signing was held on 26 September 1998, in Manado coastal waters on board the KRI TELUK BANTEN, Navy's vessel by the Indonesian President, Prof. Dr. B. J. Habibie. Witnessing the signing among others were HE Canadian Ambassador to Indonesia, the Minister of Research and Technology and other ministers, Governor of North Celebes, Director of UNESCO Regional office in Jakarta and other officials and dignitaries not only from Indonesia but also from the neighboring countries such as Australia and Singapore. It was indeed a big event involving about 5000 individuals, flying pass of aircrafts and ships joined the fleed review. Among others two of our BARUNA JAYA Research Vessels, a number of navy vessels from Indonesia, Australia and Singapore three tall ships and numerous traditional local sailing ships.
