Lebanon

The National Centre for Marine Sciences (NCSR) is spearheading action in welcoming the Year of the Ocean initiative by launching the following activities:

• Launching of a science journal, the first of its kind in Lebanon, as a forum for scientific expression of marine scientists amongst others;

• Organization of a national exhibition by Lebanese artists on the theme "Man/Woman and the Sea";

• Attempting to issue special commemorative stamps through the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications;

• Follow-up action in order to interface with all stakeholders in the public sector, private sector and NGOs.
