Structure / Organization

JCOMM is a joint technical commission of the WMO and the IOC, and reports to the World Meteorological Congress and the IOC Assembly.

JCOMM is divided into three Programme Areas (PAs)—Observations (OPA), Services (SPA), and Data Management (DMPA), each of which has a number of expert teams or coordination groups to oversee particular activities. Satellite requirements and Capacity-building are cross-cutting themes across the PAs, and the intersessional activities of JCOMM are overseen by a Management Committee (MAN).
