Describe your Metadata in MEDI
There are two ways you can submit your metadata descriptions to MEDI:
Describe the data on your local server. You must first install MEDI on your local server.
Full instructions on MEDI installation can be found on the Install Software page.
Create your metadata records using the MEDI authoring tool.
These metadata descriptions can then be exported as DIF-XML files using the MEDI Export function and then
forwarded to IOC for inclusion into MEDI. You can chose to export selected records or alternatively export all records.
Describe the data on the IOC MEDI server. The MEDI server is available at
http://ioc.unesco.org:8080/medi. To enter your data descriptions directly
to the MEDI server, you must first register and be allocated a User Name and Password.
Send the following information to the MEDI coordinator:
- First Name
- Surname
- Organisation
- Email
- Phone
- Fax
- Address
- Preferred User Name
You will then be sent a password that will enable you to describe your data directly onto the MEDI server.
Full details on how to enter data descriptions in MEDI is described in the
MEDI User Manual
