This free and searchable database aims to bring together scientists and professionals working in the Mediterranean region with the aim of establishing a basin wide network on marine research and related issues.

The realization of a regional approach towards dealing with marine related issues in the Mediterranean is of concern to all riparian countries. The integration of efforts, knowledge, and resources across the whole basin is a necessity for the safeguarding of our seas and it requires all the cooperation possible. The networking between institutions, between scientists, and with managers and end-users in general is the means to achieve such integration and a database such as MeDir can effectively contribute towards this end.

The MedGOOS Secretariat, based in Malta, is gathering entries from all over the Mediterranean region but we require your full support in order to increase regional coverage of the database.
